The President
FELLOW BOSNIAKS AND PEOPLE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA ACROSS THE WORLD!
After arriving to the American ‘melting pot’ and Canadian ‘cultural mosaic,’ every Bosniak is faced with pressures and temptations to lose his/her national identity. This loss has multiple negative repercussions, sociological and existential, bringing about the necessity of self awareness as a Bosniak.
These reasons and others have motivated Bosniaks in North America to associate and establish a national institution which will maintain, preserve and reinforce common Bosniak values: the notion of nation, religion, language, traditions and culture. This is how the Congress of North American Bosniaks (CNAB) was formed. Without strong institutions to reinforce identity, Bosniaks would become an amorphous mass, easily influenced as a minority by the cultural norms of the majority. CNAB is trying to resist these attempts in an institutionalized manner.
At a time when Bosniaks and their history are maliciously and deliberately distorted, misrepresented and misinterpreted by certain elements in North American religious circles, CNAB exists and is embraced by Bosniaks as an organization that accurately represents them throughout the United States and Canada .
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am inviting you to become a CNAB member. When you look through our website you will see that a great number of dedicated volunteers like yourself are constantly working to defend and promote issues concerning Bosniaks, the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bosnia and Herzegovina itself.
This work, however, requires participation as we all prosper when we help each other. We need you to keep us strong, inclusive, independent, democratic, informed, and effective. You assistance and membership pledge will go a long way in supporting our important work.
Thank you for your interest in the Congress of North American Bosniaks!
Please join us.
