Fellow Bosniaks and people of Bosnia and Herzegovina extraction across world! Thank you for your interest in the Congress of North American Bosniaks {CNAB}.
Knowing that with no awareness of belonging to the Bosniak ethnos, each and every individual, isolated Bosniak, after his/her arrival to the American “melting pot” and Canadian “cultural mosaic” is faced with pressures and temptations to lose his/her national identity. This loss has multiple negative repercussions, sociological and existential, bringing about the necessity of awareness that Bosniak nationality is special. All this has motivated Bosniaks in North America to associate and establish a national institution which will maintain, preserve and reinforce common Bosniak values: notion of nation, religion, language, traditions, customs and culture. This is how the Congress of North American Bosniaks [CNAB} came about. Without strong institutions of the identity reinforcement, Bosniaks would become just an amorphous mass, easy to shape by anybody in anyway. Masses so easy to shape in accordance to anyone’s own selfish needs and aims and modeled to suit anyone’s own selfish interests. CNAB is trying to resist these attempts in an institutionalized manner.
The foundation for the organized, institutionalized and gradual self-organizing of Bosniaks in the areas of North America was placed with CNAB. The growing number of Bosniaks in North America follows the growth of their national, patriotic and religious needs and requirements.
The need for reinforcement and self-defense of all Bosniak components as well as all positive values of multidimensional Bosnian society (which is so like USA, com.trans.) and Bosnian state, can not cast CNAB aside.
This is a challenge which CNAB could, and still can, to a certain extent I must add, adequately respond, but also is an opportunity for which CNAB needs to additionally prepare itself.
The first step in my opinion would be for CNAB to adequately present itself to all north American Bosniaks as their shield from all aspects of negative assimilation. So that Bosniaks would know what is available to them and to which requests CNAB can realistically respond.
Next would be for CNAB to present Bosniaks (and their culture and values, com.trans) in a proper manner elsewhere in American, Canadian and eventually Bosnian society. (Bosnian values and culture have been maliciously and deliberately distorted, misinterpreted and misrepresented by certain elements in North American religious circles, societies with anti-Bosnian, anti-islamic and openly islamophobic agendas ergo need to erase these distortions and present true picture of the Bosnia and Bosniaks.) Finally CNAB and Bosniaks must find in themselves the strength to win over nationalistic divisions and hate which fogged their mind. Today there are only two points of possible progress for the Bosniaks: the first one, inter-Bosniak dialogue, entirely humane and scientific, which is something that every individual who considers herself/himself human supports; the second one, the creating of conflict inside the Bosniak body, which is an option conspired by those with animal nature.
For the second one, there is only one left, a prayer: “O God! Guide them, for they know not (better)!”
Some wanted to present us not the way we really are, but the way they needed us for their target practice. (as they still do, com.trans.) Even today we are witnesses that those, most powerful and most vocal have no courage to name the things with their real names. For that reason CNAB needs to spread the truth about Bosniaks and Bosnia.
On behalf of Board of Directors, I am inviting you to become a CNAB member. When you look through our website you will see that a great number of dedicated volunteers like you are working constantly to defend and promote the issues concerning Bosniaks, people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
